May 31, 2023 by Mike O'Kane Leave a Comment The inaugural Asia-Pacific Turnaround Industry Working Group (APTIWG) was held on the 24-May-2023 in Singapore. The event was sponsored and hosted by AP-Networks Asia Pacific (AP-AP).The goal of the APTIWG is to push the boundaries of turnaround knowledge using benchmarking, networking, and exchange of best practices. The APTIWG was attended by around 20 Turnaround Leaders from Petronas, Singapore Refining Company (SRC), Shell Bukom and Shell Jurong. Daniel Phan, AP-AP Regional Manager for Singapore, presented the latest Turnaround Industry Benchmarks on both global and Asia Pacific region, covering the recent trends seen in cost escalation and productivity. Tony Grassi, AP-AP Regional Manager for Australia, presented Long Range Planning (LRP) and Strategy, with emphasis on the importance of using LRP to de-scope and de-risk high complexity STO events. We also had the pleasure of having Mr. Anil Kumar Malik share with us how value can be achieved through Turnaround Interval Optimization in Upstream Oil and Gas Production Facilities. Both Daniel and Tony facilitated two round table discussions, with active participations from everyone, covering topics on cost escalation, labor availability, and LRP strategy (with detailed discussion on practices and issues that impact LRP). The event was a success and we look forward to hosting the next APTIWG in 2024.Media Contact: communications@ap-networks.com
