February 27, 2014 by AP-Networks Leave a Comment Houston, Texas, February 27th, 2013 — AP-Networks, a leading solutions provider for petroleum, chemical, and energy companies worldwide, has appointed Dan Morlang as Vice President, Capital Project Consulting. This move echoes the company’s commitment to providing best-in-class guidance for the capital project teams it serves. Prior to accepting the position, Dan served as Head of Projects for a number of streams at Amoco and BP. “Dan’s extensive industry knowledge and demonstrated leadership capabilities make him the perfect candidate to further evolve the capital projects space and AP-Networks’ role in it,” said Brett Schroeder, Managing Director and Co-Founder of AP-Networks. Dan takes a holistic approach to project management, assessing problems from three angles—people, processes, and behaviors. In his new role, Dan will join Shawn Hansen, Gordon Lawrence, and Steve Jewell in expanding the reach of AP-Networks’ capital project consulting group. “More than anything, I’m excited to work with the next generation of project professionals to devise new strategies for project management,” said Dan. “My goal is to communicate to AP-Networks’ clients our desire to co-own their problems and walk hand-in-hand with their project teams to craft effective solutions.” Before joining AP-Networks, Dan spent more than 35 years at Amoco and BP managing a diverse array of projects involving natural gas, LNG, solar power, cogeneration, wind, and hydrogen conversion & storage. While at Amoco, he led the effort to develop a common capital project management work process for global use. Prior to the company’s merger with BP, he headed up Amoco’s capital project execution work outside of the U.S. When Amoco and BP merged, Dan helped unify and optimize BP’s capital project work process, and went on to serve as Head of Projects for Gas, Power, and Renewables before becoming the Head of Projects for Alternative Energy.
