September 24, 2021 by Director, Capital Projects T.J. Felts is the Director of Capital Projects for AP-Networks, based out of the company’s office in Houston, Texas. He joined AP-Networks in 2016 and is a CII Task Force Member on RT-420. In his role with AP-Networks, T.J. plays an active part in helping clients improve their capital project performance. He oversees AP-Networks’ Capital Project governance, assurance, integration, benchmarking studies, and site-based system evaluations. His focus is on clients’ project improvement and optimizing business value through the project portfolio. He also is the developer of Oryx, a project portfolio benchmarking tool that provides portfolio insights. He has led assurance and readiness reviews for major capital projects across the globe. He has helped develop and implement project and turnaround corporate work processes, and worked to ensure clients have the tools to put insights into action. Prior to joining AP-Networks, T.J. held several leadership roles and undertook the management of numerous large-scale projects and operations as a Combat Engineering Officer in the United States Marine Corps. He served in various leadership and staffing roles for engineering and maintenance support functions. He supported operations in Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and the United States. He also worked for Marine Corps Logistics Command, and supervised and monitored the quality, schedule, and cost of 700 Inspect and Repair Only As Needed (IROAN) or Modification lines within the Marine Corps Depots to ensure overhaul of the Engineer Fleet of assets. He authored the maintenance annex for equipment returning to the United States from Iraq, and led a team in Afghanistan focused on developing and implementing processes and procedures to send equipment to the United States from Afghanistan. T.J. holds a MSc degree in business administration from Tulane University and BSc degree in Geology, Engineering Geology Option from Texas A&M University.
