He shares responsibility for the company’s overall strategic direction and management of its long-term growth and profitability. As co-founder, he has been instrumental in the development of the company’s values, ethics, and client-focused philosophy.Mr. Schroeder has more than 25 years of professional experience improving capital project and plant turnaround performance in the energy, petrochemical, and construction industries. His leadership philosophy and professional experience mirror AP-Networks’ mission—to combine exceptional talent with evaluative tools to generate measurable improvements in asset and operational performance. During his career, Mr. Schroeder has led hundreds of independent readiness and benchmarking reviews for both upstream and downstream projects and turnarounds. He has also participated in peer assists with many owner-operator teams, and brings with him a unique expertise in risk assessment and management.At AP-Networks, Mr. Schroeder has helped guide and develop the product and service offerings that have been the catalyst for the firm’s exceptional growth. He has led major assignments for energy and petrochemical companies in the United States, Europe, Asia, and Canada. In the early days of AP-Networks, Mr. Schroeder focused on the design and development of the company’s web based portals and diagnostic tools. He also supported British Petroleum’s Great Operator team in implementing a long-term strategic program to improve capital productivity through the development of new project evaluation tools and work processes for the company’s upstream business. In addition, he designed a risk management system for BP that has since been implemented across all segments of the company.Prior to co-founding AP-Networks in 2000, Mr. Schroeder served as the Vice President of Independent Project Analysis, Inc. and managed the company’s European office in The Netherlands from 1995 through 2000. At IPA, Mr. Schroeder worked with many of the leading European energy and chemical companies in implementing project benchmarking and review programs. During his tenure, the office grew from a two-person operation to a division encompassing more than 30 employees. Earlier in his career, Mr. Schroeder played an instrumental role in helping the U.S. Department of Energy analyze and improve its performance in the management of Environmental Waste and Restoration projects. The work he led resulted in a department wide “stand-down” to focus on improving project management, and gained national media attention.Mr. Schroeder is a thought leader in the industry and has been a featured speaker at industry conferences and events all over the world on risk management, benchmarking, project evaluation techniques, and contracting strategies. Additionally, he has published numerous papers in industry journals. Mr. Schroeder has a bachelors and masters degree in Economics and is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
