Grant West is a Subject Matter Expert with Asset Performance Networks, Asia Pacific, reporting to the company’s Singapore office. Grant brings more than 25 years of refining experience to his role, with an emphasis on process implementation and successful project execution. Before joining AP-Networks, AP, Grant worked as a Turnaround Superintendent at Caltex Australia.
Over the course of his career, Grant has worked to implement improvement processes through the use of best practice techniques and management systems. To this end, he was a member of the team responsible for the implementation of a standardized turnaround work process at Caltex Australia. Grant’s practical approach to field execution and his emphasis on process adherence have allowed him to successfully complete over 15 turnarounds at management level, and over 80 turnarounds in total.
Throughout his time with Caltex, Grant held a variety of positions, including Inspection Engineer, Operations Area Specialist, Turnaround Superintendent, Reliability Lead on the Kurnell Refinery Conversion Project, and South East Queensland Aviation Fuels Manager. He also worked as a process controller for BHP at the Port Kembla Steel Works, and as the Executive Fuels Manager for Qantas. These positions have provided Grant with a comprehensive skillset and a wealth of experience that make him a valuable asset to AP-Networks, AP’s clients.
Grant holds an Honors Degree in Materials Engineering from Wollongong University in Sydney’s south. He currently holds API 510 certification.
