September 24, 2021 by Vice President, Americas Mike O’Kane is the Vice President, Americas for Asset Performance Networks, based out of the company’s office in Houston, Texas. His experience encompasses more than two decades in the refining and power industries, as well as work in process improvement and business performance consulting. In his current role, Mike shares responsibility for the development and ongoing improvement of the company’s products and services, encompassing software, benchmarking, and consulting solutions.In his previous role as Managing Director of AP-Canada, Mike shared responsibility for the company’s overall strategic direction and the management of its long-term growth. Under his leadership, AP-Canada experienced consistent year-over-year growth, expanding both its list of clients and its roster of experienced consulting staff.Before serving as the Managing Director of AP-Canada, Mike was the Manager of Benchmarking and Process Development for AP-Networks. In this position, Mike led site and corporate benchmarking initiatives, as well as work process development efforts for turnarounds and capital projects. Throughout his time at AP-Networks, Mike has been involved in reviewing and benchmarking over 100 turnarounds in the United States, Canada, and Europe. He has managed turnaround work process development and update efforts for several of the world’s leading refining companies.Prior to joining AP-Networks, Mike was with The American Productivity and Quality Center, where he managed process improvement, benchmarking, and consortium research projects for a number of Fortune 500 companies. He has also worked for TMR Energy, an affiliate of Total (France), on Eastern European projects focused on planning and economics, yield accounting, and turnarounds. Additionally, Mike has worked on Greenfield power plant development for El Paso Corporation.Mike holds a bachelor’s degree from Trinity University and an MBA from Texas A&M University. As one of the industry’s foremost practitioners of work process development and implementation, he has co-authored several books on corporate strategy and performance measurement systems.
