Bethesda, Maryland June 5th, 2007 -- Asset Performance Networks announced today that it has entered into a Global
Alliance Agreement with Shell. The three-year agreement covers affiliated and
related companies e.g. Shell Pipeline Company LP, Motiva Enterprises LLC, Shell
Trading and others.
The spirit
and intent of the Alliance is to drive best practices in
turnaround planning and execution throughout the Shell facilities world-wide and
to measure progress toward annual turnaround performance benchmarks. Commercially, the agreement aids any Shell
facility anywhere in the world to easily request assistance from AP-Networks
through a call-off or a simple work order avoiding location-specific time-consuming
contractual paperwork.
When asked to comment, Joe Gandolfo, Shell
Americas Turnaround Director said "It is important for our Downstream manufacturing
journey toward performance excellence to continually benchmark our efforts and
employ nimble and simple structures to make on-going course corrections. Our
partnership with AP-Networks is a crucial part of our turnaround performance
improvement effort as they offer us an opportunity for quantitatively
understanding the competitiveness of our preparation efforts - in real time -
such that we can make the necessary adjustments along the way".
George DeBakey's, AP-Networks Managing Director, remark was "While
many energy companies understand that fostering a learning organization is
essential to dealing with a fast-changing world and future energy challenges,
they by in large have enabled traditional learning systems. In contrast, Shell has moved from traditional
learning to systemic learning." He adds "This is where AP-Networks is best
equipped to enable Shell transform data, information, and experience into
systemic continuous learning and corporate knowledge. We are very excited to be
part of Shell's journey toward turnaround excellence."
