AP-Networks announces the debut of the Turnaround Benchmarking Study

Bethesda, Maryland, December 15th, 2009 — AP-Networks announced today a Turnaround Benchmarking Study ("Study") aimed at the global refining and chemical sector. The Study is based on an existing, growing, and detailed turnaround database of 540 turnarounds from industry. It is enabled through a user-friendly and secure data collection portal www.Turnaround-Benchmarking.com. The database, the web-based questionnaire, and the benchmarking methodology are all now ready to generate immediate benchmarking reports.

When asked why AP-Networks is debuting a benchmarking study now, when almost a decade ago it established itself as the turnaround knowledge expertise company, Bobby Vichich, Vice President of Turnaround Services, said, "AP-Networks has been collecting turnaround data on every turnaround Readiness engagement since 2002. The data are used to measure Readiness (practices and alignment) and to predict outcome risks. Our view is that you need to know where you are and what you are facing in order to make course adjustments and implement best practices. Measurement should have a 'how to achieve' betterment goal, otherwise it is simply a hollow scorecard".

Brett Schroeder, Managing Director for AP-Networks went on to say, "We started a Turnaround Benchmarking Consortium in 2004 made out of five integrated oil and refining companies. The consortium designed the data collection instrument and the desired data. The objective was scope comparison in addition to the traditional benchmarks. The ultimate goal was to have ten companies join the consortium in 2004. That goal was not fully met, but our clients are now telling us they are ready. It is our duty to our clients to make the data available for benchmarking purposes if they wish to take advantage of it".
