Subject Matter Expert - Maintenance and Reliability
Henry Ondrusek
Henry Ondrusek is Subject Matter Expert based in AP-Networks’ Houston office. Mr. Ondrusek has over thirty years of professional experience in the petrochemical industry, and is a recognized industry expert in the area of maintenance and reliability (M&R).
Prior to joining AP-Networks, Mr. Ondrusek spent four years as an independent maintenance and reliability consultant to a variety of companies in the refining, chemical, and paper industries. His assignments included performance assessments, work process implementations, and improvement efforts in reliability, efficiency, risk analysis, and cost reduction.
Henry began his career as a technical engineer with Dupont, and later joined Mobil Oil, where he held a variety of positions managing maintenance and reliability at the Beaumont, Joliet, and Paulsboro refineries. During this period, Mr. Ondrusek managed budgeting, planning, scheduling, work execution, contracting, control, and maintenance engineering. Henry later became the Manager of Maintenance Services for all of Mobil Oil’s US refineries. In this role, he led maintenance and reliability improvements at five domestic refineries, and coordinated improvements with several international refineries. During this period, Henry led efforts to fund reliability and infrastructure improvements that helped achieve four years of record-breaking earnings performance for the refining business. In addition, he designed and implemented a best practices networking system that eventually became the global-wide standard for excellence within the company.
Mr. Ondrusek’s other past experiences include the design and implementation of M&R budgeting/planning tools, leading benchmarking efforts, developing long-range turnaround plans, and creating new training methods (RCM, FEMA, modeling etc.) that reduced overall maintenance expenses while improving mechanical availability.
Henry earned his BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from University of Texas at Austin, and did additional postgraduate engineering work at UT-Austin and Tulane University.
