Subject Matter Expert – Project Management and Benchmarking
Finn Sandberg 

Finn is a Senior Consultant based in Stavanger, Norway. Finn has over 30 years experience in planning, estimating, engineering and benchmarking major projects, revamps, and turnarounds. Finn is considered one of the industry thought- leaders in implementing project benchmarking and researching the drivers of success for large and technically complex projects.

Prior to joining AP-Networks, Finn spent 25 years with Statoil (now StatoilHydro) in a variety of positions. His project experience includes the following mega-offshore North Sea projects: Statfjord B&C, Gullfaks C, Sleipner, Pierce, Norne, and Kristin.

He has also been part of two governmentally appointed committees investigating the planning and execution of large platform projects offshore Norway.

Finn spent his last 14 years at Statoil as an Advisor and Discipline Leader on Project Analyses and Benchmarking and successfully implemented a corporate wide benchmarking program which contributed to Statoil’s dramatic improvement in project execution. Early in his career, Finn worked with Heerema Seway and Kvaerner Moss-Rosenberg.

Finn has written several articles and papers both for domestic and internationally journals on different themes within project analyses and benchmarking and has been a presenter at numerous international project management conferences. He has also gives lectures to master degree students on the same subjects. Finn holds a Masters of Science from the Marin Technology Institute in Norway.
