John Nixon
John Nixon is a Senior Consultant at AP-Networks’ Houston office. As a Senior Consultant with 14+ years project experience, Nixon is responsible for the deployment of AP-Networks’ turnaround and project services.
Prior to joining AP-Networks, Nixon was deployed to Eastern Europe where he led project teams and work crews in the installation and rehabilitation of region-wide municipal utility networks. In addition, Nixon created a nationwide Project Management Office for a large Houston energy firm that integrated scheduling, contract administration, accounting, customer energy information and project management. Nixon designed and conducted corporate training for 7 region offices and company HQ, training 400+ personnel, programmed the company’s first-ever intranet-based project portal and led the project integration of new company acquisitions. Nixon led project teams “soup to nuts” from project site investigations, project progress audits to post project review.
Prior to his work in the Energy Industry, Nixon was an Officer in the Corps of Engineers (US Army). As an Engineer Officer, Nixon was the Environmental Engineer for the 1st Cavalry Division overseeing large environmental cleanup and new facility installation projects. Responsible for a major overhaul of Ft. Hood’s environmental posture, Nixon created a “culture of compliance” by redesigning and deploying regulatory compliant hazardous chemical handling procedures and the creation and execution of OSHA directed HAZWOPER training for 200+ soldiers. Prior to his work as an Environmental Engineer, Nixon was a Platoon Leader for 91st Engineer Battalion, Engineer Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division.
Nixon has been a guest speaker at conferences on the use of project management tools and processes and has published military regulations on environmental compliance and project management.
Nixon holds a Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering from Texas A&M University.
