Senior Consultant
Clayton Shoemaker
Clayton is a Senior Consultant based in AP Networks' Houston office. Shoemaker has more than 17 years experience in the petrochemical and pulp & paper industries.
Shoemaker has been involved in reviewing more than 15 turnarounds since joining AP Networks in December 2005. Shoemaker fulfilled a seconded Assistant Turnaround Manager role for a client on an integrated major capital project/turnaround that ended up with a 0 TRIR and meet all budget and schedule targets. In addition to assessing and managing turnarounds, Shoemaker has developed and delivered training for AP Networks' Risk Based Scope Review (RBSR) workshop and has facilitated these workshops for several clients. Shoemaker has also deployed his project knowledge by assessing and improving client small capital project execution systems and streamlining project procedures.
Shoemaker came to AP Networks from ExxonMobil, where he held a variety of technical and management positions throughout his career. Most recently, as a Project Manager, Clayton managed multiple capital projects throughout ExxonMobil's integrated refinery and chemical complex. In addition to his extensive experience in small and large capital projects, Shoemaker participated in the development efforts for two large complex world-class steam cracker turnarounds. During this experience, Shoemaker honed his recognized status for effectively integrating capital projects and turnarounds; and developed, planned and implemented systems turnover (work acceptance, TCCC) protocols to ensure optimized outage windows, leveled of operator resourcing, and efficient event free startups.
Prior to ExxonMobil, Clayton held technical and managerial positions with Boise Cascade Corporation and Simpson Pasadena Paper Company. Clayton has a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Louisiana Tech University.
