AP-Networks is working with the Alternative Energy Division of a large energy company to manage project readiness and risk workshops for a series of planned low carbon power projects in the US and Europe. These projects offer significant CO2 reduction opportunities. The AP-Networks led workshops help project teams formulate project plans, identify and implement best practices, and establish a risk management strategy.
AP-Networks recently helped the project team for a major new grassroots chemical facility develop a cost and schedule recovery plan. The plan was essential in helping the owner team re-gain control of the project and effectively performance-manage the EPC contractor.
A team of AP-Networks consultants implemented a Risk and Interface Management workshop for mega-upstream project located in the Middle-East. This workshop helped the project identify and assess potential threats and opportunities and develop mitigation plans for high severity risks. The project team was provided with a detailed risk register for tracking progress in managing risks.
During 2006, AP-Networks developed and successfully launched a new corporate Risk Management system for BP's Major Capital Projects. The tool is being used across the company to facilitate a standardized approach by project teams in the identification, quantification, and management of risk.
Turnarounds
AP-Networks delivered a new Integrated Shutdown Process and Manual on time and on budget for Gasco, a Major Middle Eastern Energy Company based in Abu Dhabi. This work also involved the development and implementation of an extensive training program.
An experienced 2 person AP-Networks team implemented a Risk Based Scope Review for a high complexity refinery turnaround as part of a scope challenge process. The review identified scope reductions valued at over $10 million.
One of our industry recognized Subject Matter Experts has been working with a large-scale chemical turnaround to help them develop a "plan-to-the-plan" and provide expert guidance to a new Turnaround Manager.
AP-Networks recently conducted a Management Team Effectiveness workshop with a large refinery in the Midwest. The AP-Networks staff worked with the Refinery Leadership Team to improve communication and accountability, and clarify decision roles within the team. The session helped the client re-align their intangible assets to support key projects and long-term strategic initiatives.
